So its cold here.  Not like, "burr it's chilly out here" but I walk outside and my first instinct is to run...but then there's ice and snow...and the fact that I had to deck scrub our sidewalk at Starbucks because someone dropped mocha and it immediately froze to the curb and was consequently a slipping hazard.  I leave my car and run inside for a few minutes and then return to my car...incased in a rock.  There's really no way to 'break' it because it seems to be as hard if not harder than my windshield (which already has three winding cracks and is in a very delicate state of affairs).  My new state, a customer explained to me last night after my manager refused to close the store early (NOT BITTER), is in a state of emergency...because it is incased...in a rock, which does not seem conduct electricity well.  And then there's driving on ice.  Apparently only 60% of the Kansas City population sees ice as a valid explanation for reducing speed.  Me and my Texas liscense plate seem to merit many dirty looks.  A couple days ago they, my house mates, told me not to lock my car because the lock would freeze overnight and I wouldn't be able to get in... that night all four of our cars were broken into.  Needless to say, I think I'm adjusting quite well, despite a few minor setbacks :)

And yes, I still love it here and it is/will be worth it...always.

So I am kind of at a crossroads...or I was.  I came back from Thanksgiving and found a note on my dresser asking me to move out by January.  Seemingly out of nowhere, but I think it is in His will.  Needless to say I get slightly anxious and decide to pray and fast on Thursday about my future...seeing as how Starbucks just isn't the highlight of my life and all.  Friday I pick up a shift for a guy so he can speak at a high school...as I am walking into the bank to drop off Starbucks deposit the bank manager pulls me back into her office and offers me a job. $11/hr plus incentives, plus health, plus she will let me go to school when I decide to, plus flexible hrs.  I say give me two days to decide.  Today I go into work and tell I friendly customer (one that I like) about wanting to go back to school.  She recommends KU's extension in Kansas City (which I have already researched and decided if I would love to go to...but can't).  I said it would be perfect, but I don't know.  She says, "well why don't I call the Chancellor and ask him to meet with you?"  deer in headlights look... It turns out she is a State Senator for Kansas.  She proceeds to write down her cell phone number and e-mail address.  "He's in town," she says, "we can do it soon, just e-mail me."  And she just smiles.  And so does Jesus, I'm sure....moral of the story...fast and pray.

I live in Kansas City now; I love it....it being the house of prayer.  I won't be here forever, but I love the season I am in.
